Identifying your GymAware Model

There are three distinct versions of GymAware.

The PowerTool Classic (v3,4 and 5) requires the initial Bluetooth setup to be performed. GymAware LE (v6+) the Low Energy Bluetooth module which enables a simple and quick Bluetooth pairing process. GymAware RS is the 2022 model and has Bluetooth LE and some different button positions.

GymAware Classic Three different versions v5.0 has the PowerTool serial number on the underside of the unit and a circular charger port. v5.1 has a mini USB, the serial number is located on the lid, and a 'pin hole' on the side cover for the Hard Reset function. v5.2 has the white reset button on the edge. Version 5 units do not work with Palm Tungsten E2's Manufactured prior to November 2017. Serial numbers 1-2694.
GymAware LE Version 6 and above. Manufactured after November 2017. Serial numbers 2695 and above. Side reset button. Bluetooth Low Energy module
GymAware RS Manufactured after January 2022 Serial numbers 6000 and above Micro USB charger

The serial number can be found on the top of the PowerTool and/or underneath handwritten on the sticker.

OLDER VERSIONS

Version 4

To be sure it's version 4 check that the width of the sensor is 85mm across the outer faces.

Version 4 units do not work with Apple iOS devices, they only work with Palm Tungsten E2's

Version 3

Version 3 units are larger than version 4 and 5 is the version 3 PowerTools which are 100mm across the outer faces.

It is important to note that these units are not rechargeable.

There are no connections for power.

Version 2

The version 2 PowerTool is basically a white, metal box with the GymAware logo on it.

It has two magnets on the bottom with the tether coming out the top. If you've got one of these, hold onto it; it's an antique and may have collectors value.
