No. It's not for Yoga, bro.
The reflective mat is not an accessory, it is an important part of the FLEX system. The reflective surface will get you the best experience and the greatest accuracy no matter the gym surface installed. This is very simple and quick to do.
For this reason, it is critical the mat is positioned well. We are not so much concerned about the mat but the reflective service. In lieu of using the mat, you could also paint sections of your floor with reflective paint.
The mat is durable and at 4ft x 1ft (120cm x 32cm) and 14 ounces (400 grams) and will roll up to be about the size of a regular sized towel. It easily fits into a gym bag.
It is important to setup the mat so the the FLEX sensor will be over the mat from start to finish.
- If lifting from a rack, we want the front end of the mat under the sensor in the racked position, and extending back to cover the exercise you complete.
- For exercises that start from the floor, having the sensor over the centre of the FLEX mat is a great position.
- For Olympic exercises, set up with the FLEX sensor over the back third of the mat, with the greater length of the mat extending out in front.
